Picture
For Module 2, students are to learn about the composting process. Resources to help students learn can be found on the Module 2 Resource Page.

Some of the questions that should be addressed:
  • How does composting happen in nature?
  • What factors should people consider when starting to compost?
  • What is the science of composting?
  • What items can and cannot go into a compost pile/bin?
  • How do you know if your compost pile/bin is healthy or unhealthy?

After they learn, students will create a digital artifact that shares their learning with others.
  • Digital artifacts can be:
    • Slideshows
    • Videos
    • Documents
    • Posters (digital, or photos of physical posters)
    • Any other digital product that explains how composting works.

Finally, you or your students should share their digital artifact(s) on Twitter and/or Instagram using the hashtag #educomposting so that other classes can learn from your students. Also, allow your students to see what others have shared.
